My jumping off point for decoration often starts with fabrics and inVU Drapery Co. is where I look for high impact without breaking the bank. I've selected a few beautiful fabrics for my Fall/Winter mini makeover from inVU (which I will show you later) ... but for now, I would like to share with you four inspirational Fall trend reports from the design experts at inVU.
Trend #1: Equinox
Drawing inspiration from nature, the rich earthy hues in shades of reds and oranges truly reflect what we see in the woods. The warm metal on the art deco console and the muted yellow link pattern on the pillow add glamour and glow to the room. The antique bronze pendant and the dark table and base for the console help ground the space. Nothing screams warmth and coziness louder than the trendy suzanni print and a couple of wall mounted horns plaque. Hint to you all: one of the patterns you see in Equinox is in my living room.
Trend #2: Woodland
If you like Summer as much as I do, green maybe your ticket to bring back happy memories during those snowy days in Winter. Pairs extremely well with shades of yellow and blue, green also looks shape against neutral. Afterall, I did have my couch slipcovered in green! Loving the weathered wood elements in this inspiration board and how the neutrals allow the shots of green to pop.
Trend #3: Natural Eclectic
This is easily one of my favourite styles. The room is inviting, cozy, and it feels lived in. Yes a show home is nice to visit, but a lived in space is what appeals to all. The Louis XVI chairs are given a modern twist with deep blue velvet for comfort and shimmer. The large blue artwork is showcased in a muted gold frame, which complements the subtle yellow/gold accents and brings warmth to the space. Of course I'm in love with this whimsical chandelier. Looks familiar doesn't it? Sarah has the same one in her farmhouse! Another hint: one main element in this trend will also be incorporated into my space this Fall/Winter.
Trend #4: Carbon
I actually surprised myself but this my friend is my favourite trend report. Carbon (a.k.a. deep rich navy blue) totally swept me off my feet. Pairing with mustard (another hot trend this year), the space is sophisticated without being too serious. Check out this gorgeous chair upholstered in velvet with brass nailhead details: totally tailored and very versatile to suit many different spaces. If deep ink velvet is too daring for you, how about this wing back with natural linen and white washed wood? It's classic and timeless.
Hope these four trend reports have inspired you to decorate your home for Fall. Jen from Rambling Renovators has started the process! Yours truly of course is not too far behind.
