2019 Trends ~ House & Home Edition

Hello Friday and welcome to the last weekend before Christmas! Normally I would be having a blast at Christmas markets in Europe by now, but for this holiday season Chris and I have decided to stay in town for an oh-so-festive Christmas in Canada.

Paris, maybe I will see you in 2019!

As I look forward to my travels in 2019, I thought hey let's talk about the hottest décor trends in 2019! I had a fantastic time at the House & Home Trends Breakfast a few weeks ago and got a sneak peek of what is fresh and new for 2019.  Here are a few of my personal favourites:

From delicate muted pastels to the shape juxtaposition between punchy coral and bright turquoise, the sky is the limit when it comes to color options and how to apply in our home.  From wall treatment (love the large bright canvas in the neutral dining room) to floor coverings (check out these two rugs from The Rug Company), I am going to find a way to add some pastels in my condo.

Black Outline is another hot trend I am totally obsessed with.  Yes it maybe a 2019 trend but its classic and sophisticated appeal make it a designer favourite for years to come.  Black outline bookcases are definitely high on my list and don't be surprised when you see it in my next condo soon.

Now if you are online shopping for some last minute gifts, why not check out the Now House collection by Jonathan Adler for  These super chic black and white furniture pieces are chic and whimsical in true JA style.  I may just have to get a pair of these dressers before they are sold out!

Fringe and seriously who doesn't love fringe? It's feminine but not girly, glamorous but not old Hollywood and best of all, the movement fringe creates from fashion runway to home décor ... LOVE!

My obsession with fringe started last year when I visited Moooi in Amsterdam.  These ornaments and THAT SOFA + fringe in a refine, ombre execution had me at hello!  And just look at how fabulous the vignette looks with a colorful contemporary rug, a pair of tufted armchairs with a traditional silhouette, and those lux velvet oxblood pillows #brilliant!

For all you One Room Challenge fans, remember this home office I completed in the fall and can you spot traces of today's trend talk in the room?  Thanks Stephani for these amazing captures.

Another delicious item I spotted at #hhtrends2019 was the fluffy Japanese style pancakes.  My birthday is coming up in less than a week ... maybe Chris will be making me breakfast in bed!  Check out the recipe on House & Home.
