Sarah Style ~ Prize Pack #Giveaway!

Hello Monday! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend after a couple days of spring-like weather in Toronto and if you're following me on instagram, you'd know that I had a blast celebrating the 10th birthday of The Artist Project + my favorite picks.

With my spirit rejuvenated by the warm sunny rays and inspiring art (and a meeting with the builder on my next condo), I am once again ready to nail down a few more details at my pre-construction condo with lots of help from my go-to reference for design ideas: Sarah Style by Sarah Richardson.

Kitchen and bathrooms are the most important rooms in the house, especially when it comes to resale.  My new condo features an open concept kitchen with a terrific sightline to the living room AND a panoramic view of the tree-lined neighborhood.  Sounds dreamy right? Well the downside (actually quite typical in new condo) is that all the essential appliances are packed onto the main wall, leaving not a whole lot of uninterrupted counter space.

A couple of ideas I love from this sleek contemporary condo kitchen:

  • a narrow spot for cookbooks, accessories or even baking pans (I will add one next to the fridge)

  • statement featured wall with open shelves connected right to the upper cabinets (don't you just love the smoked mirror and the light detail?
  • extend the island to add valuable counter space and smart solution to combine kitchen + dining

A small bathroom living large is exactly what I need in the second bath.  A pendant over the mirror, simple yet effective tile work in the shower, and hello to that fabulous floor!!

For the ensuite, I am loving the South Beach vibe and how luxurious this bathroom looks with its floor to ceiling tile sensation.

Make use of every corner and why not expand your living room into the hallway without blocking the flow? I will have to keep this trick in mind.

My new condo is rather healthy in size but it's suggested layout doesn't really include a designated "dining room".  I will need to be creative in crafting a dining room being the kitchen and the living room without blocking traffic.

This smart solution with bench sitting by re-imagining kitchen cabinetry may just be what I need.  Bench seating allows the table to be pulled closer (to save a few extra inches otherwise required for chair clearance) and check out the extra storage underneath!

Last but not least, I have been dreaming of some fancy tile mix to make a first impression at the foyer.  Here are a couple of ideas I think will work beautifully in my new condo.  Fingers crossed the builder will say yes to one of them.

Enough of me talking, how about you hear from Sarah on how to create the home of your dreams?

And this is your lucky week! To celebrate the launch of Sarah Style paperback edition, Sarah and Simon & Schuster Canada are offering FOUR winners to take home a copy of Sarah Style + a special Sarah Richardson design aprons

  3. I am collecting ideas for renovating my u-shaped kitchen. I really love the idea of using some open shelving or niche space to break up the line of kitchen cupboards. It makes the space way more interesting, gives it personality and is a great opportunity to display collectibles.

  7. Our place is small, but I love making changes every now and then. Our living room needs a refresher as do my bookshelves! I'll be tackling that before I try doing something new for the kids' rooms.
