Weekend Fun ~ 03.16.2014

Hello Monday!  How was your weekend friends? I had a fabulous time with Jordana, Tia, and Brittany on Saturday for a delicious brunch and an afternoon filled with laughters.  Now here is a big PLUS to blogging: you get to meet amazing people who share your interests and you feel like they are your best of friends because they "understand" you!  Thanks ladies for such a great break from #ProjectChris!!  Here are the recipes for Brittany's Creme Brûlée and Jordana's quiche.

Now back to #ProjectChris, the new West Elm rug has arrived and I couldn't be happier with its soft, cheerful shade of yellow.  Now I can't wait to hang the drapes and get this room wrapped up!

We have made great progress at the kitchen and the art department.  The cabinets have been transformed into a two-tone kitchen thanks to Para Paints: creamy white on the uppers and warm slate grey on the lower cabinets.  The doors are being sprayed as we speak, and fingers crossed the doors will back in a couple of weeks.

We've also hung our first piece of art on the wall.  Yes, the first hole on the wall! Chris was extra careful and precise on the task.  Love this Trowbridge print on the blue accent wall.  While Chris was busying putting up the art, I had fun put together a few pieces with ready made frames.  Can't wait to map them out for the gallery wall in the living room.

I am also planning to join my buddy, Igor of Happy Interior Blog, as one of the Urban Jungle Bloggers.  With the passing of my cactus of 2 years still fresh in my memory, I've decided to embrace the challenge and plan a green living wall at #ProjectChris.  After all, I have learned from Urban Jungle Bloggers that "There is no such thing as a GREEN THUMB.  Just get to know your plants & love them".

So I've mapped out a spot with bright natural sunlight to welcome this highly versatile vertical magnetic storage system from EQ3 for an urban garden oasis.  For more information on Urbio, check it out here.
