2013 Holiday Special ~ GlucksteinHome @ the Bay

Hello Friday! TGIF is right and lucky me, I also get a day off on Remembrance Day!  It will be a busy one though as Chris and I are trying to iron out the essential pieces before he moves in: bed, mattress, lighting, and kitchenware.  On top of moving, Chris is also in the market for a new car … that's right, as if we are not exhausted from making millions of decisions already + we are traveling to Calgary at the end of November + flying to Europe in 5 weeks!

Trying hard to forget the madness and chaos ahead, I've decided to focus on happy thoughts and take you on a tour to the Christmas Street at the Bay.  Holidays at the Bay is one of my most looked forward events of the year.  You all know I love Christmas, and with Brian joining forces with Arren, you know the Christmas Street is nothing short of spectacular.

The holiday section is huge this year and for today, we are checking out the collections curated by Brian.  Chalet De Noel: it is all about warmth, cosiness, and it is super inviting.

The natural wood tone, the antler chandeliers, the ultra soft and luxe faux fur blanket, and a fabulous fireplace, who doesn't want to get cozy up next to the fire for a cup of hot coco over the holidays? I could sit here all day … everyday!

I am loving the unconventional ornaments on a traditional red and green palette.  Brian has truly re-imagained this classic palette and executed it ingeniously through plaid!  Whether it is fashion runway or home decor, plaid is HOT, and we simply can't get enough of it.  Other cuties I can't get enough: these adorable friends chilling on a plaid chuck.  FUN!

Ice Palace is one of Brian's signature holidays palette (you can see the previous collections here and here).  For 2013, this icy blue collection is charming, whimsical, and has an organic flair.  I am loving the hip urban vibe in this vignette thanks to the mid-century chandelier, the modern classic ghost chairs, and the painted faux brick feature wall.

As for wreathes and ornaments, here are a few fabulous options designed with simple + organic + whimsy + charm in mind.

Looking to up the glam factor for the holidays? Add a little sparkle and feathers!

Here comes my favourite from Brian's 2013 collection: Enchanted Forest.  Instead of taking a walk in the forest, Brian has invited nature indoor.  I love that the collection is sophisticated, full of charm,  and the muted neutral makes it incredibly easy to incorporate into our home.

Being inspired by objects found in nature (pine cones, antler, berry branches), Brian added his special touch and extra embellishment to turn these ordinary beauties into absolute delights.  My favourites are the gold antler for candles and the snow globe with birch bark.  What is your fav?

Want to join in for a special tour with Brian? I bet you do (sorry the video is a little choppy … time for a new phone)!

Thanks Brian for a fantastic time! Christmas is only 7 weeks away, have you started decorating for your home? DO TELL!

Good luck with the final home prep and car hunting this weekend! :)

  2. I'm such a fan of that BG!
Sounds like things are uber-hectic on your end. All fun stuff though!
