2013 Holiday Special ~ the Bay

Hello Wednesday!  As the temperature in Toronto took a deep dive to just below the freezing mark and part of our city is lightly covered by white fluffy stuff, I think it is time to set our holiday spirit into high gear.  Our stop: Christmas Street at the Bay!

We have toured the Gluckstein Collections with Brian last week and today, I am delighted to have Arren to guide us through the Lord & Taylor collection, the one stop gift shop, and the classic HBC collection.  The Lord & Taylor collection is hip, retro groovy, and full of whimsies + bright bubble gum colours! The visual team has done an amazing job to create this intimate and cozy home.  I can totally imagine the children rushing to the tree on Christmas Day to find their presents from Santa, or watching the holiday classics with blankets + hot cocos.

I wasn't kidding when I said the visual team has put together a cozy home.  That's right, the vignette also includes a kitchen and a dining room!  The black and white floor, the blue wall, and the vibrancy of the delicious colours, we have been transported back to the 50s!

A full blown "back to the future" adventure is certainly fun, but if you are looking for just taking a few souvenirs that are totally charming and festive, here are my top picks:

Ready to catch an episode of holiday classic? I can't believe I have never seen this version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer!

Now off to buying the perfect presents for friends and family.  I strongly recommend you to check out The One Stop Gift Shop.  With over 100 items hand-picked by the Bay, there is something for him, for her, the kids, the design addicts, and the tech hipsters.

The Hudson's Bay collection is such timeless classic, truly Canadiana, and totally trending.  You don't need to have a winterized cottage to experience the outdoorsy Canadian culture this Christmas.  Check out the Bay and add a serious shot of heritage love right at home with these classic stripes!

A first at the Bay this year is the Etsy Holiday Shop.  It features the incredible creations of three visionary Canadian artists (Alexx Boisjoli, Jack Fouracre, Hanna and Irene) and the display is designed by the super talented ladies, Shannon & Robbin of hoopla!   BRAVO ladies!

So happy to have met Erin from Etsy for a first look at the Etsy Canada Holiday Boutique and to discover these one-of-a-kind gifts.  Here are mine, what are your favourites?

Of course I have also secretly made a wish list from the Bay this year:  a little Kate Spade, a super chic bow tie, a sexy aroma diffuser, and a delicious ginger bread cookie recipe!  Chris are you reading this?

Happy shopping friends! Start early before these perfect holiday gifts are sold out at the Bay
