Guest Visit: Arcadian Home

Hello Monday!  How was your weekend? I was in Waterloo and if you are following me on Instagram, you probably had a little sneak peek of all the gorgeous finds I spotted at HomeSense.  I am telling you, this location never disappoints and the finds were sensational!

Speaking about sensational delights, I am super excited to have Mari from Arcadian Home Blog to share with us her favourite spaces in many shades of blue.  This sumptuous and classic hue is definitely one of my all time favourite neutrals (other than whites and greys): it is always fresh, crisp, and calm.  Without further delays, here are eight incredible rooms set to inspire a transformation in our own home!

Hi, all! It's Mari here from Arcadian Home blog, a great place to find lots of interior design inspirations, like beautiful color palettes and all sorts of interesting lighting fixtures from modern pendant lights to ornate chandeliers. I'm so happy to be visiting Design Maze today with a guest post about fabulous blue rooms. Beautiful blues, from soft and feminine to dark and handsome seem to fit into just about any style room. To illustrate, I've pulled together eight images to inspire you to plan your very own blue interior spaces. Please enjoy!

Contemporary spindles are painted to create a beautiful ombre effect as they climb the stairsófrom the palest of pale watery hues to the deepest midnight blues.

Solid dark blues work well with this bold wallpaper to create a stylish blend of feminine and masculine style. It's a great mix of oversize pattern, wonderful textures and shapely designs.

A duo of seahorse paintings brings just a touch of coastal vibe to this blue and white space. Deep tan walls (reminiscent of sandy dunes) are a bit unexpected with blue and white furnishings but it works beautifully here.

Cornflower blue cabinetry creates a chic yet inviting look in this chef-worthy kitchen. Pendant lighting fixtures hung by long chains from the tall ceiling are a brilliant design choice for this wide-open space.

A blue and gray bedroom is at once chic and filled with soft feminine texture and pattern. Gauzy curtain panels and pure white chandelier create a lovely ethereal feelójust right for this bedroom in blue.

From the pale colors in the image above, we turn to a much darker vision of blue. A mix of moody hues and jewel tone blues are dramatic surrounding this tall pure white tufted headboard.

Mid-tone blue bedding in a simple tailored style is pretty with pale walls and silvery accessories. This is a warm and inviting look for a guest bedroom.

A rustic beach house entry hall is updated with the slightly glam look of a turquoise leather armchairóhere drama meets driftwood. The foyer light with a creamy drum shade in a restrained unassuming style seems perfect as it lets the more dramatic colorful elements take center stage.

I of course love them and can't never just pick one.  I love the colorful spindles for a light-hearted appeal in this classic hallway, the beautiful classic kitchen for my future cottage getaway (I died when I saw that ceiling and those pendants), and that luxurious bedroom by Sarah with all the shimmer and sparkles.

  1. I love the ombre spindles on the staircase, so impactful and subtle at the same time, and the kitchen was amazing. Beautiful.
