One of this year's feature exhibits is "HOW DO YOU WORK?". With advancement in technology, our work space is no longer confined within four brick walls. We work from home, run meetings via mobile devices/ laptops, and draft up a contract on the iPad: work now gets to travel with us. The conventional "work space"now begs for a complete re-think and this exhibit is determined to show us just that. I am absolutely in the market for innovative "home office" ideas and simply can't wait to be inspired!
I love this boardroom by blackLAB Architects for the dramatic glass block walls (a practical element to let in light), the cluster of simple yet sophisticated lights, and those bold white stripes that run in the middle of the room. What fun!!
ProtoType and Studio North are two other exhibits on my must-see list. Featuring the brilliant work of independent designers, ProtoType is the place to spot the next big thing that will soon be produced in mass. I am loving the organic sensibility (almost shape like a crystal don't you think?) of this bright blue desk: perfect for my home office. This sleek and sexy pendant is one of the items being showcased in Studio North. I can't wait to see the installation!
Aside from the fantastic products you will discover, another amazing aspect of IDS Toronto is the line-up of design experts to share their words of wisdom with the rest of us. The incredible Christine Lemieux, founder of Dwell Studio, will be at IDS this Saturday discussing "How is fashion related to interior design? What are the trends in textiles and where does the inspiration for it come from? How are today's contemporary spaces created?".
I love Dwell Studio and you can spy a couple of its products in my own home here. So I can't wait to meet Christine in person and hear about her take on textiles! Christine also did a Q&A with House & Home, sharing her thoughts on Canadian design, 2013 resolution, and how to live an adventurous life. Be sure to check it out.

You all know I love Brian's classic, tailored, and sophisticated design. Looking forward to seeing Brian again on House & Home Sunday and hear his design talk with Mark Challen at KRUPS Stage at 1:30pm. Now if you can't wait until Sunday, check out Brian's latest favourite decor trends at home with Suzanne on CanadaAM.

Of course I will be there to see Tommy in action as well. He will be at IDS Toronto on Sunday at 3pm chatting with Suzanne. You won't want to miss it!
