Store Alert: Tonic Living

Happy Friday!  First week back from vacation is always tough and I'm still trying hard to get back into my regular routine.  After all, my life in Europe was extremely relaxing and the thought of "just stay here" did make a few appearances.  To ease myself back into reality, I decided to focus on happy thoughts and share my visit to Tonic Living back in August.

The store houses an amazing collection of fabrics.  From printed cotton and organic linen to indestructible barkcloth and high quality woven upholstery fabric, Tonic Living has got it all.  Don't believe me, see for yourself!

You all know I love a well-balanced floral (so both gents & ladies can live happily ever after) for drapes or pillows, and I think I have just found two amazing options featuring one of the hottest colors this fall: mustard yellow.  For those who prefer a more traditional floral, I recommend Clarice in a classic blue + white palette with a hint of chartreuse yellow for a sophisticated and elegant look.  If you are looking for something a little more casual, then the delightful and preppy Spring Mix with an health dose of warm mustard gold is definitely what you want to bring home.

A couple of complementary options to go with the two florals: energetic graphic ikat in shade of blues or tranquil vern (a.k.a Scramble) in grey and cream.

I love geometric print for its visual impact and a touch of whimsy (I've used the pattern regularly in my own home) and here are a few of my new found favourites available at Tonic Living.  First up is a pair in cool tone and I would love to use them in a study.  While the graphic fret is destined to be gorgeous drapes or a new dress for an upholstered chair, the large scale pattern in espresso and grey is ideal for a supersized bulletin board.

If you are in the market for a softer palette and pattern, this tribal inspired weave fabric and hexagon ikat trellis may just be what you are looking for.  Of course you can never go wrong with a charming grey and yellow colorway.

If you have been following me for a little over a year, you would know that I don't really decorate much for Halloween.   I did enjoy the dressing up part when I was a kid, but somehow the "trick or treat" spirit never really grew on me.  So while everyone is busy planning for the perfect outfit, I generally focus my attention on Christmas.  These two fun fabrics totally reminded me of the festive season and then I thought: why not wrap my gifts this year with fabric?

And out of all the beautiful fabrics, I have narrowed down to these four absolutely favourites and you may see them in my home one day.  Floral, polka dots, and geometric prints, I am in fabric heaven!

Thanks Janine and Shannon for an amazing tour of the store and inspiring me with some of the newest fabrics available at Tonic Living.

Now here is something truly exciting for you.  You see Tonic Living is offering one of you a pillow with fabric of your choice from its store (up to $50 in value).  To enter this giveaway, check out the fabric collections at Tonic Living and come back to tell me which fabric you fell in love with and where will this lovely pillow live in your home.  The lucky winner will be announced Monday, September 17th.
