Outdoor Fun: Summer 2012 + Winner of Para Giveaway!

Hello Monday!  I'm back in town after a rejuvenating long weekend up north camping on a remote island.  The water was crystal clear (perfectly warm for swimming I must add) and with this breathtaking scene, how could I not be inspired?

With zero wind in the air, the lake was transformed into a huge mirror, reflecting the rich forest green, the bright blue sky, and shades of grey and brown from the mighty solid granite.

Beautiful blooms from the island and local residents who shared their home with us:

Chris was great in planning our meals.  However, he decided to an extra local delicacy to the menu on day 2.  Here is what happened to our dinner:

So fish didn't make it to the table but we did have bacon and toast for breakfast!  Here comes the tips from our chef on how to cook a crispy bacon and a perfect toast, camping style:

Delicious bacons and toasts ready to satisfy our hunger, bon appetit everyone.

Dogs are truly man's best friend, especially when you put four gay men on a remote island.  Madison was our loyal and brave guardian.

Remember I was going to try out a few different bug repellent products and report back upon my return? Well I think the stick on patch did help on the first day when the flying bugs were not in full blown attack mode.  The deep wood spray did do its job to protect us "regionally" during those sunset hours.  As for the coils, I think it is more for peace of mind.  Now I do want to share with you the most effective bug control weapon of all, Madison!

Camping fun aside, today is also announcement day for the Para Paint giveaway winner!  One lucky winner from the GTA area who commented here is about to take home four gallons of beautiful hues from Sarah's Designer Palette.
