Store Alert: CB2 Toronto

With much anticipation, CB2 is finally in Canada!  Toronto has the honour to be the city where CB2's first Canadian store calls home.  Located in the hip, vibrant, and eclectic Queen West and Bathurst Neighbourhood, CB2 certainly fits right at home with its eye catching orange logo, along with its high design and affordable modern home furnishings and accessories.

Being the modern, contemporary cousin of Crate & Barrel, CB2 offers innovative design solutions for apartment, loft, home and office.  I was at the opening party last night and let me share with you some of the beautiful vignettes and products I spotted at the party.

This casual living room is perfect for any small spaces.  The bold orange sofa is deep and comfortable, while the glass coffee table offers maximum surface space without taking up any visual space.  I love these large industrial casters with bright yellow as accent!

Cozy living space take 2: the subdued color palette of this vignette allows the warm, textured fabrics on the modular sectional and the beauty of raw materials on the coffee table to steal the show.  Love these oil rubbed accessories and the fun ostrich artwork.

This living space is masculine without being macho.  I love the charcoal grey with white pin stripes on the sofa, the floor lamp with three matte black shades, and this nature inspired coffee table set.  What fun!

If the above is more for the 20 something, then this version with a mix of grey, yellow, and blue is certainly a space a 30 something, like myself, would love to call home.

Here is a bedroom vignette in the same color palette, along with a sumptuous chaise and a tall boy in dark walnut.  Looking for an inexpensive way to add interest to the space? Why not using a beautiful shower curtain as art.  I love how spa-like and serene the space look with the coral curtain as backdrop.

A simple yet sophisticated dining room vignette accented by bright yellow.

Of course my favourite of it all is this grouping of glass votive holders.  Hung at various heights with vibrant yellow cords, this cluster of glass bubbles is high impact, whimsical, and imagine the ambience when the votives are lid!

This is a fun way to store your wine.  And if you what to inject yellow into your home without big commitment, check out this dining set.  It's easy to change and all you need is a set of bowls or plates to completely switch up the color palette in your dining room.

Dining room vignette #2 certainly has its edge with a grouping of these golden cage pendants and wired dining chairs.  Love the dining table in natural wood and how sophisticated the crisp white dinnerware looks in this vignette.

Oversized industrial pendant in an intimate dining room (perhaps in a small apartment or loft), I am definitely considering this as a candidate for my foyer.

While we are on the industrial talk, I would like to show you a little detail on the staircase.  Don't you just love the attention of detail CB2 puts into the space.  Even the metal work resemblance the CB2 logo!

If you want to add warm and color to an industrial space, why not consider these stylish and tailored products? I love the orange pipping on this arm chair, the wall of white potteries, a trio of nesting cocktail tables for a touch of nature, and come on, how can you say no to this statement orange floor lamp?

And if you want even more color, check this out. What a fun, bold, groovy home office accented with acid green chair and cords of the pendants, bright blue tall book shelves, and don't you just love this statement chair?

I've shown you the vignettes and now here are the products I like in the store.  Light, simple, and sophisticated, these four beauties from the lighting department are definitely at the top of my "want" list.  I love the industrial look of the pendant, as well as the mix of natural wood and warm white on these floor and table lamps.

Here is a pendant and floor lamp that all the guys should consider.  Not only are they stylish and masculine, they are also the pieces your significant other will definitely approve.

These pendants make a bold statement and my prediction, they will be flying off the shelves!

Guys love bar carts and boy don't I have a fantastic option on casters for you.  What a pop of color and they can also doubled as side tables next to your sofa!

For extra seating in your bachelor pad, why not throwing in a couple of these cubes in charcoal grey wool?  Here is an idea for a small foyer: large round mirror with bright blue frame, a narrow unit with ample of storage and a surface with edges for keys and groves!

Organization is key in any spaces, especially when square footage is at a premium.  You've read about my storage solutions and the ingenious ideas from my friends at decor happy here, here and here, this is how CB2 put "everything in its place".

Love these floating shelves and lucite boxes, and of course the cuckoo clock (for only $99!) and these orange birdie votive holders.

Talking about organization and no clutter in sight, the top of this desk literally just slides open and in seconds, no more mess on the desk!

Many of you have asked where I got my green lounge style sofa.  It came from IKEA and was only in store for one short year before it was discontinued.  So I'm delighted to tell you that the desi sofa from CB2 is similar in concept (simple construction with back and seat cushions, and an attached side table) and upholstered with durable woven fabric!

Isn't this a fun floor covering alternative? It is part of the carpet tile collection from Flor at CB2.  Install within seconds, dramatic transformation!

Now here are the pieces I absolutely love and trying hard to figure out where to put them in my condo. I have a love affair with round objects.  This sculptural piece in brass is certainly high in style and this oh-so-soft pouf offers practical seating!

I am obsessed with all things brass and a cluster of hanging votives.  These tear drops beauties add elegance and an organic flair to the space.  You may just see them in my dining room one day.

What a fun clock hanging from the ceiling.  Love to see it in my future loft and this is "The End" of my products report from CB2.

Big Thank You to CB2 for having me at the opening party.  You were such a great host and I had a blast checking out the store and sharing ideas with friends!

It's bright and sunny out today and CB2 is now OPEN to you all!  From now until the end of February, all visitors will receive a promotional card for a chance to win $10 off with a purchase of $50 or more, or a daily grand prize of $500 shop card!  So put on your coat and head over to CB2 at 651 Queen Street West: south east corner of Queen West and Bathurst!
