Jamie Alexander: Christmas Edition

Alexander Interior & Design is a familiar name to many design savvys at King East.  Jamie Alexander, the founder of Alexander Interior & Design, has recently opened up a new location in the Summerhill designer shopping heaven district.  Neighbour to 1212 Decor, L'Atelier, Bobo and Lefty, and Chair Table Lamp, Jamie Alexander offers an unique one-stop shopping experience that balances style, craftsmanship, with an easier price tag, and best of all, most of the furniture pieces are designed by Jamie himself and manufacture locally!  Talking about supporting local business and be a green Canadian!

Today, please allow me to give you a guided tour of this new kid on the block that is fabulously decorated for the holiday season.  With neutrals on walls and larger pieces of furniture, the store is highly versatile for a personality switch in a snap.  The first holiday color palette to greet you by the door is the classic red + white combination.  I absolutely love the wreath and the pair of vintage red skis on the back wall, and how Jamie injects a contemporary twist to this otherwise traditional color scheme with an over scale 3-dimensional star as tree topper.

Furniture pieces in warmer wood tones work best with this classic palette.  The vignette on the left features a stunning table with beautiful wood inlays, black lamp shades with glossy red as the insider drums, and delicious red faux ostrich leather on camel back chairs.

If you are in the market for a good quality full height unit high in style, this fantastic piece with an intricate Chinese Chippendale design is what you want to take home with.  Cinnamon is shown here but it also comes in Java Brown, Ocean Blue, and Creme.

As for Christmas decoration, check out these festive, vintage inspired, quirky ornaments I adore.

Here is something you don't see everywhere.  Decorate your tree with glittery shoes and purses!  A little birdie tells me this collection is flying out of the door.  If you like what you see, start the car and head to Jamie Alexander before these gorgeous ornaments are sold out!

A couple of close-ups of my favourite ornaments from the classic red & white scheme.

I also love these beautiful promotional cards designed by the talented photographer Scott Young of Scott Young Photography.

Transitioning from all-time classic to timeless contemporary, this picture says it all!

I love how these Louis XVI chairs being modernized by a coat of black paint and upholstered in grey faux velvet for luxe and durability.  Pairing with a posh chrome chandelier, this dining room vignette is timeless and sophisticated.  White Christmas tree is not new but this one with added white feather-like branches and decorated with silver, gun metal grey, and muted gold ornaments had me at hello!

Before I show you my favourite ornaments from this series, let's check out some of the exquisite furniture pieces that work perfectly with the color palette.  Love the gigantic clock on the wall (both practical and beautiful), the high gloss side table in black, the framed black and white photography (by Scott of course), and these slipper chairs upholstered with high style geometric print.

If you are stuck on how to add glam and sparkle to your console table, get a collection of these hand blown beauties.  I love the shapes and designs of them as individual pieces, but even more so as a cohesive group for an elegant vignette.  I am a big fan of nautical mirrors and this pair has me searching for a spot for them in my home sweet home.

Love this living room vignette and especially this oh-so comfortable sofa, and this collection of nesting tables and coffee table.

I'm also in love with coral.  This vignette features the coral motif on the pillows and the lamp.  Love this arm chair and how the neutral upholstery places the emphasis on the elegant shape of the chair.

Christmas party also involves lots of pretty plates.  This black and white collection with classic plaid and paisley motif will for sure up the style factor of any table setting.

Tray, reindeers, and antlers are huge this year!  Why not combine them all at your bar?

More amazing decorative accessories for your home that will for sure impress your guests.  Love using ornaments as vase/bowl fillers, and how can you say no to these white and silvery feather-like branches.

For all you gentleman out there, here are a couple of accessories with you name all over them.  Love this collection of trophies and this silver deer head.

Here are my top ornament picks from the timeless contemporary series.  I love snowflake ornaments and these two are truly unique and special.

Nothing adds glamour to your Christmas decoration more than a bowl full of glittery ornaments.  Check out these lovelies!

Here are a couple more stunning cards photographed and composed by Scott.  So glam and luxe!  Love them!

The trend of warm metal and brighter hues are going strong into the new year.  At Jamie Alexander, I love this collection of yellow pillows, the mirror trio in cream on the wall, the whimsical backlit "God Save Our Queen" sign, and this pair of richly detailed brass elephant table lamps.

Here is one more beautiful card from Scott for Jamie Alexander.

I love many pieces in the store but if I have to pick just two items that I'd absolutely fell in love with, this breathtaking photography by Scott and this amazing mirror

Here is Jamie on how to accessorize a room with InTorontoTV:

By now you may be wondering: since when did Tim get so good with his little canon to capture all these amazing shots on this post?  Well only a handful of the images you see here are mine while the majority of them of course are professionally composed by Scott.  A huge thank you to Jamie for the tour of his new store and Scott for all the gorgeous images.
