Sealy Design Inc: tiff Edition

Guest what, tiff is in town!  Our city is now filled with movie stars and celebrities.  While the featured movies are not doubt the main attractions, the IT Lounge at NKPR is also known to be the place where the stars relax and rejuvenate before hitting the red carpet again.

This year, the talented Ms. Karen Sealy and her team from Sealy Design Inc are in charged to transform the NKPR headquarter into a garden inspired media centre worthy for the celebs.

Love the sharp contrast of black and white at the entrance!  The furnishing and accessories scream Hollywood: the tripod spot light, the nailhead details on the chairs, the bling on accessories, the cowhides, and there are even mini palm trees!  A few steps into the lounge, you will be greeted by "Daisy and Gatsby".

Karen's inspiration for the IT Lounge is "the Great Gatsby meets vintage Hollywood".  Check out this relaxation oasis in the midst of paparazzi chase! It is vintage, romantic, and definitely glamorous: the image of the rich and famous playing croquet in the 20s pops right in my head.

Lets have a closer look at the thoughtful details Karen and her team whipped up in three short weeks.  The "green screen" transports actors and actresses to wherever the directors desire.  With golf green carpet, fresh flowers, and greeneries, the Sealy team has taken us from the urban jungle to an outdoor retreat.  The drizzling sound of the water fountain is the perfect balance to counter the hectic tiff schedule.  While relaxing, the tasty specialty drinks are right behind the stylish and comfortable couch.

Nothing beats a gorgeous crystal chandelier when it comes to upping the glam factor to a space.  The dramatic ceiling and wall to wall sheer coverings have taken romance to a whole new level: totally Great Gatsby, perfectly appropriate for the Hollywood in tiff!  Love the vintage garden screens and the shots of pale pink from the cherry blossom branches.

Games in the garden anyone?  Love these vintage items in the space.  Hard to believe the team came up with the concept, design, and sourced all these incredible finds in 3 short weeks!

To bring more Old Hollywood glamour to the lounge, Karen accessorized the space with cut crystal glass wares, silver trays and mercury glass vases, white feather, and a mini propeller plane.

I had so much fun hanging out with Karen at IT Lounge.  Big thank you to all the amazing sponsors for making the Great Gatsby outdoor party a reality!

I love, love, LOVE this ostrich pendant!  It is an instant conversation piece and is the perfect choice for the bar next to our beautiful hostess.  Here is the menu for the specialty drinks at IT Lounge.  I had the very tasty Skyy Lively Temptress!

With a martini in one hand, the well-portioned sweet treats from Baker Street satisfy my sweet tooth without tipping the calorie scale.

The stars may also need a little touch up between the whirlwind of tiff appearances:  stila and ARDELL are here to help!

Beauty at stila & ARDELL are certainly more than skin deep.  They have teamed up for "Kiss for a Cause" to raise awareness and funds for Camp Oochigeas, a volunteer -based organization that provides  kids with cancer or kids affected by childhood cancer an unique opportunity to share sunshine and laughter with the beautiful scenery of the Muskoka as backdrop.  Too bad I'm not a celebrity, I would have kissed the canvas five times!

Kobo is another partner at the IT Lounge.  Their ereader touch is amazing and I came home with one in blue!

If you also want to add a touch of vintage Hollywood at your own home, here are five great tips from Karen!

Big big thank you to Karen, Lisa, Shannon for a fantastic time and the rest of the Sealy team (and of course the fab sponsors) for the Old Hollywood experience!  We will certainly see more of Karen's projects in the near future, but in the meantime, check out Sealy Design Inc and follow Karen on facebook for inspiration!

A behind the scene footage at IT Lounge is now up.  For those of you who couldn't see the space in action, here you chance to see it live!
