Pride Toronto 2011

Pride Week is a 10-day long festival in Toronto (usually the the last week of June) organized by Pride Toronto to celebrate diversity, acceptance, and be PROUD.  The Rainbow Flag rising ceremony at City Hall signals the beginning of Pride Week.  With countless arts and cultural parties/events/entertainments to set the stage, Pride Week climaxs with the three-day street festival + the Dyke March, the Trans March, and the infamous Pride Parade!

Mother Nature has always been nice to Pride and 2011 was no exception: it was hot, sunny, and did I mention HOT?

Pride Week is truly a festival of colors, out of the world fashion, and certainly family-friendly (for the most part).  These energy-filled photos were captured by the talented photographer: Scott Young.

My good friend Hugh McPherson from The Sound of Pop was also the offical media coverage for artists performed at various events and music stages during Pride 2011.  Check out Hugh's recap on some of amazing performances this year.

As for me, other than gym-pumping, party-hopping, and pitchers of margarita, I also did my Pride Run this year to fund raise for Mark s. bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies and The Fife House.  Here is Chris and I crossing the finish line!

Pride generally involves some serious male hotness and if you are concerned about top-less male images, I suggest you stop reading now.  Otherwise, this maybe the only time you see pictures of yours truly without a shirt!

Happy Pride everyone and be PROUD!
