What a creative way to add drama, create a feature wall, disguise the "black hole", and be totally functional! Also look beyond the traditional potential of a simple bookcase. It is perfectly appropriate to outfit a bookcase (the expedit from Ikea in this case) with baskets to add texture (not to mention added storage) and decorative items for visual interest! While arranging your books, consider grouping books with similar colors together for a more tailored look.
When in doubt, start with neutral! It provides a solid backdrop and allows you to go bold with decorative elements, such as pillows or lamps. I love installing wallpaper on an accent wall, especially when it's applied behind the bed! If the budget is tight and there is just no money left for artwork, why not make your own? If you have some leftover wallpapers from other projects, simply frame them up for instant artwork!
I am a sucker for a wall to wall bookshelves filled with white books and natural elements such as coral. This one is no exception. I totally love this vignette and would love to have one in my summer home one day (that's when I have a summer home).
Fantastic wall to wall high glass storage system from Ikea! With the helps from Croma Design, these big box units look totally custom! Not to mention the perfect marriage of the high gloss finish on the storage and the polish concrete floor in this industrial loft!
What is not to love in this spa-like bathroom? The stone mosaic tiles, the rain shower head, the polished nickel vanity, and the full height mirror ... all comes together so beautifully to create a calming master ensuite.
and how about this gourmet kitchen from Kelly Deck? Love the mix of classic shaker doors in white and the modern ones in espresso for the cabinets, glass floating shelves for open displays, and the gigantic island top by carrara marble!
Looking to up the glam factor? Check out this very pretty living space by one of my favourite designers, Samantha Pynn. I've always enjoyed watching her show, Pure Design, on HGTV and looking forward to seeing more fantastic ideas in Sam's future shows!
